Ssese Oil Palm Growers cooperative savings and credit society limited (SOPAG SACCO) is a member-based, member-owned savings and credit cooperative society that was registered on 23rd October, 2015, with the registration number; 10722/RCS, as Ssese Oil Palm Growers Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited (SOPAG), is owned by its members who exercise control over it through a democratic system of governance in line with cooperative principles. SOPAG is regulated by the Department of Cooperatives under the Cooperative Societies Act Cap. 112 of the laws of Uganda and the Cooperative Regulations 1992. It operates in Kalangala Town Council, Kalangala District. The society is licensed and supervised by the Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority under the Tier IV microfinance institutions and Moneylender Act 2016. The Uganda Microfinance Regulatory authority licenses SOPAG SACCO under license Number SC 031.
