SOPAG SACCO is a fully registered and licensed savings and credit cooperative society under the laws of Uganda. It is registered under the cooperative societies Act CAP 112 and licensed by the Uganda Microfinance regulatory Authority under the Tier IV microfinance institutions and Moneylenders Act 2016. The SACCO was registered in 2015 by the registrar of cooperative societies and is licensed by the Uganda microfinance regulatory authority under license number SC 031.
SOPAG SACCO development Agenda is guided by the SACCO by-laws which provide for its mandate as a savings and Credit Cooperative society. Society is expected to undertake the following functions.;
- Mobilize Savings, deposits, and related services earning competitive rates of interest and minimizing financial risks to the members’ savings
- Loan services at the cost allow the society to cover its operating costs.
- Other legally authorized and economically viable financial services demanded by members.
